How the 60-second test works
Open the typing test, choose Words and select the 1-minute duration. The timer does not start until you type the first character.
Follow the text exactly. Use Backspace to fix mistakes or keep moving, and track how errors change your result. You will see net WPM, accuracy and a speed graph at the end.
Understanding WPM and accuracy
Typing speed uses a standard word length of five characters. It is not necessarily the number of space-separated words you typed. This is why WPM can compare passages of different styles.
A single fast but inaccurate attempt tells you less than a series of consistent results. Compare attempts with matching duration, language, difficulty and test mode.
Make practice count
Run several separate attempts rather than chasing one lucky score. Try the guided lessons and focused drills between timed tests.
Your history is stored in the browser, not sent to an account. Your personal best and the daily challenge give you reasons to practise without relying on a public leaderboard.
All test scores are calculated inside your browser. No sign-up and no practice text sent to an app server.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to sign up?
No. You can start immediately, and your test history is stored locally in your browser.
Can I compare one minute with five minutes?
Not directly. Longer tests measure sustained performance and often result in a different WPM score.
